COLOMBO, SRI LANKA

Arrive in Colombo and transfer to the Jetwing Lagoon for an overnight stay.


DAY 2
COLOMBO / WILPATTU NATIONAL PARK

After a leisurely breakfast, depart overland for Wilpattu National Park. Check in to the Ulagalla Resort before embarking on our first safari.


DAY 3
WILPATTU NATIONAL PARK

Spend a full day exploring Wilpattu National Park, home to 30 mammal species, including Sri Lankan elephants, spotted deer, sloth bears, and the elusive Sri Lankan leopard. Keep an eye out for wetland birds such as pintails, whistling teals, spoonbills, and white ibis.


DAY 4
WILPATTU NATIONAL PARK / SIGIRIYA

Visit Sigiriya, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sri Lanka’s most iconic attractions. Rising over 650 feet above the surrounding jungle, “Lion Rock” was once the heart of a fortified city spanning 170 acres. Explore the remnants of its grand royal citadel, meditation caves, audience platforms, and baths. Later, check in to Jetwing Vil Uyana and enjoy dinner at a scenic restaurant overlooking picturesque paddy fields.


DAY 5
POLONNARUWA

Tour the UNESCO-listed city of Polonnaruwa, Sri Lanka’s capital from the 10th to 12th centuries. Highlights include the Royal Palace complex, the King’s Palace and Audience Hall, the Quadrangle with its dense concentration of ancient heritage, and the stunning Gal Vihare complex, home to four massive Buddha images carved from a single granite slab.


DAY 6
ANURADHAPURA

Discover Anuradhapura, Sri Lanka’s first capital and a cornerstone of Buddhist civilization. This UNESCO World Heritage Site features the island’s oldest Buddhist shrines, impressive white dagabas (relic chambers), intricately carved monuments, pleasure gardens, and an advanced irrigation system of reservoirs and canals.


DAY 7
SIGIRIYA / KANDY

This morning, visit the Dambulla Rock Cave Temple, a UNESCO World Heritage Site housing over 150 Buddha images, including a massive 50-foot reclining Buddha. Stop at a local spice garden for a tour and refreshments before continuing to Kandy. Upon arrival, check in to the Jetwing Kandy Gallery for dinner and an overnight stay.


DAY 8
KANDY

Explore the renowned Royal Botanical Gardens in Peradeniya, home to over 300 orchid varieties, medicinal plants, and towering palms. In the evening, visit the Temple of the Tooth, a sacred Buddhist pilgrimage site known for its beautifully decorated buildings depicting scenes from Buddha’s life.


DAY 9
KANDY / NUWARA ELIYA

Travel overland to Nuwara Eliya, nestled in Sri Lanka’s lush hill country. Stop at a traditional tea factory to sample world-famous Ceylon tea before checking in to the Grand Hotel. Enjoy some free time to relax, followed by a leisurely evening stroll through the charming town center.


DAY 10
HORTON PLAINS NATIONAL PARK

Spend the day exploring Horton Plains National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site and one of Sri Lanka’s last remaining montane rainforests. Hike through the cool highland climate, spotting unique flora, colorful butterflies, and rare birds. Don’t miss the breathtaking viewpoint at “World’s End,” where the plateau drops 1,000 feet into the valley below.


DAY 11
NUWARA ELIYA / GALLE

After breakfast, head to Galle, a coastal city rich in history. Visit Galle Fort, a UNESCO World Heritage Site originally built by the Portuguese in 1587 and later fortified by the Dutch. Despite modernization, its well-preserved architecture transports visitors back in time. Check in to The Fortress Resort and enjoy an evening at leisure, either unwinding or exploring Galle’s atmospheric streets.


DAY 12
GALLE

In the afternoon, explore the historic Galle Fort, home to around 600 Dutch-era houses lining narrow, cobblestone streets. Visit colonial churches and museums that showcase the area’s rich heritage. In the evening, gather with fellow travelers for a farewell feast celebrating our journey.


DAY 13
GALLE / COLOMBO

Return to Colombo, Sri Lanka’s bustling capital, where diverse cultures and commerce converge. Tour the city’s impressive cultural landmarks, including Buddhist and Hindu temples. Check in to the Galle Face Hotel before spending the afternoon exploring vibrant markets, museums, and art centers featuring fine collections of antiques, arts, and crafts.


DAY 14
COLOMBO / DEPART

After breakfast, transfer to the airport for your return flight home.
